7 ways we make getting your care downtown easy

Our main campus in downtown Minneapolis is much more than just a hospital. It also houses a number of primary care and specialty clinics, where we see thousands of patients every year. As the downtown population continues to grow, we’re here to meet all of their healthcare needs from our five-block campus in East Town.

Here’s how we make getting your care downtown easy, convenient, and patient-centered.

  1. Friendly Welcome Desk Staff
Staff at our Welcome Desks are ready to greet you and point you to your destination. They are located across campus in the Purple, Red, and Blue Building lobbies as well as the skyway level of the HCMC Parking Ramp at 6th Street and Park Avenue. While you are making your way across campus, we encourage you to ask any staff member for directions; we are all here to help!
  2. Skyway- and Tunnel-Connected Buildings
Our downtown campus may be large, but you can get from one end to the other without ever having to go outside! Like many downtown buildings, we have skyways and tunnels to help you quickly get to where you need to go. This is especially convenient during the winter months.
  3. On-site pharmacies
If you were prescribed medications during your visit, you can pick them up on site at one of our pharmacy locations. Most patients use the pharmacies in the Purple and Blue Building lobbies.
  4. Valet parking at three building entrances
Through our partnership with HealthPark, we offer valet parking at a flat rate of $7 for patients and visitors every Monday through Friday at these entrances:
    – 716 South 7th Street Entrance to Purple Building (7:30 am-6 pm)
    – 913 South 7th Street Entrance to Blue Building (7 am-6 pm)
    – 730 South 8th Street Entrance to Red Building (8 am-6 pm)
  1. Discounted ramp parking
Discounted parking for patients, families, and visitors is available in both of our parking ramps. Simply request a validation ticket in your clinic.
  2. Sustainable transportation options
Driving isn’t the only way to get to our downtown campus. We value sustainability and encourage alternate transportation options among our staff and visitors. We provide many racks for bikers and are also just 1-1/2 blocks south of a light rail stop. Visit Metro Transit for more information about bus and light rail routes and time schedules.
  3. Future growth and improvements to our facilities
We’re constructing a new specialty center that will make getting your care downtown even more convenient. Opening in spring 2018, the 377,000-square-foot building will house most of our outpatient clinics and services on six floors, plus two levels of underground parking. We are also opening a clinic in the North Loop in April 2017. Located in the TractorWorks Building at 800 N Washington Avenue, this clinic will offer family medicine; women’s health; dermatology; allergy; integrative health, with chiropractic and acupuncture; and a pharmacy.
