Microneedling?

The North Loop Clinic is open! And with that, within the walls of our dermatology expertise, we will offer several cosmetic procedures including microneedling, an in-office-based procedure quickly gaining popularity. This procedure helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, dyspigmentation, and many more conditions.

Micro-needling is actually just like it sounds: a special pen with tiny needles used that create microscopic holes in the skin, which then stimulate collagen and elastin product through wound healing. According to dermatologist Dr. Jenny Liu, “Usually three monthly treatments are required to maximize results although sometimes, depending on the condition being treated, more will be needed.” During the treatment, you may experience a light burning sensation but often a numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure to help with the slight discomfort. After the procedure, you may experience some slight redness for a day or two, similar to a mild sunburn.
