Paramedic Application Information

HCMC Paramedic Program

Our cost estimate is $10,500 while other Programs are $16,000 and above. We are no longer eligible for financial aid, but the program is VA/GI Bill® eligible and WIOA eligible.

We are currently talking with several Metro area colleges about a possible partnership for students looking for a local degree pathway. In the meantime, we have instituted a payment program in which you pay $1000 down and at least $250 a month until the tuition is paid off (deposit non-refundable 30 days from the start of class, $250 cancellation fee before then). You will not be able to test for paramedic certification until your balance is paid off. Additional expenses are $1000 or less. We are limiting the required books and loaning out other books to lower the costs.

The Tues/Thurs Night course lasts 12 months, and the Monday Day class course lasts 15 months. We are limiting our classes to 24 students per cohort. In the event of more than 24 candidates, the candidates will be ranked on their FISDAP entrance exam scores.

Please keep in mind that our paramedic program is within a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and Clinic & Specialty Center; our HCMC campus is at the heart of medical care in downtown Minneapolis. We are fortunate to offer robust learning experiences that most programs cannot provide.

We are a CAAHEP accredited program, and you will be required to pass NREMT Cognitive and Psychomotor exams to obtain your certification.

FISDAP Paramedic Entrance Exam - This is a proctored exam at EMS Education. You must schedule a time with the Paramedic Program to take this exam. You will be registered and pay for the exam when you arrive at EMS education to take the exam. The fee for this exam is $12 and must be proctored by our EMS Education Staff or their designee.
